How do you get wrinkles out of satin/silk and similar fabrics?

I ordered a satin dress and it has really bad wrinkles and fold marks that it incurred in shipping. I haven't worn the dress yet but is there a way to get the creases out without completely laundering it? Ironing the fabric makes me nervous because I've never ironed satin (afraid of burning it) any ideas?
