Prom -- date help!?

so, i've asked this guy who's a great family friend to go to prom with me.. he can't go b/c he won't be in town! oh great, so none of my friends have dates.. i've asked them if they just want to go w/out dates anyways but they won't. I'm completely out of options with nobody to ask. Guys from church are nice but super stuck up & i know i would feel really awkward if i asked/went with one of them. I'm really upset & just at a loss as to what to do. I'm unbearably shy on top of all of this! (however i can hold a conversation, i just get nervous!) If you have any suggestions please reply!
