Why should I become a teacher instead of joining the military after college...please answer?
I love biology to death and therefore I am majoring in bio. You can't do much with a B.S. in bio other than teach or go to grad school. Both of which are not in my intentions. I initially planed on becoming a teacher but now I am thinking why not join the army or the air force after college and enlist as an officer. Please correct me if I am wrong; teachers get paid $32,000 in their first year and it takes a long time for this salary to increase. Plus you have to deal with taxes and clroom related expanses. And the current tenure situation just keeps going down the drain. On the other hand, enlisted officers get paid $32,000 in their first year and their salary goes up to $42,000 after 3 years. Plus there is room for promotion and even more education. Can you please, if needed, correct me on my previous statements and make a suggestion on which path I should take.
