My 6 month old boston terrier has some funky Green eye boogies ...?
my 6 month old boston terrier (Rosco) has what i guess is eye boogie or eye snot. i have been wiping his eye and surrounding area with a warm washcloth. i had a pug ( who sadly ped away 8 months ago ) who had allergies who would get boogies but they were never green. this concerns me so i made an appointment for thursday which is 5 days away. my mother in law who raises bostons said to use a nasal spray ( just a little) to clear out the histamine that may be causing the problem. today i used my contact solution to wash out they eye. I have been giving him baby allergy medicine (1/2 tsp) (vet said it was okay but no more than once a day) for about 3 days, and it seems to be helping a little but my mother in law says, "if its green, needs to be seen!" hence the vet appointment ...i figured my contact solution was okay since i put it in my eye. what else do you all suggest until i can get him to be seen or am i doing everything okay? its just in his left eye and my 2 year old boston (Otis) is okay i have been checking his eyes to make sure hes okay, just to be on the safe side. Rosco is playing very well, healthy appetite, napping and using the potty just normal. just some funky eye boogers. thanks in advance for any comments or suggestions.
